On March 10, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo held a rally for his paid family leave legislation. The proposed bill would give New York workers 12 weeks of paid family leave.

At the event, he spoke of his late father, former NY Governor Mario Cuomo. He says he wished he spent more time with him.

"I took as much time as I could with my father, but in truth I wish I had more time," Cuomo said, "And looking back, I kick myself because that's what was important in life."

The proposed bill would allow new parents and those who need to care for sick relatives to take time off and still get paid. Currently, no law requires New York employers to provide staff with paid family leave.
