WFUV's relationship with Craig Finn has been an especially rewarding one. Even though he's more apt to make a lyrical reference to his native Minneapolis in his songs, Finn's 20-plus years living in Brooklyn have still seeped unmistakably into his art. And we've taken the ride with him, through eight albums with The Hold Steady, and now six as a solo artist.

His latest solo release, A Legacy of Rentals, came out in May and it furthers Finn's reputation as a singular songwriter. In this "FUV Live" performance at Rockwood Music Hall, he opened with three from the new album. He also introduced the brand new song "Shamrock," captured in video below, and ended with a handful of faves. All the while, he offered insight into his inspirations and characters with introductions you could best hear in our intimate Marquee Member setting at Rockwood.

Enjoy a solo performance from this troubadour, raconteur, and longtime pal of our member-supported radio station.
