On Your Radar: Julia Haltigan, Alan Semerdjian, The Looking

On December 9th On Your Radar presented a triple bill of talented New York artists to a packed house at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2.

Julia Haltigan, who grew up just a couple of blocks from Rockwood on the Lower East Side, has real star power, with dynamic songs and a hot band (which includes her father).

Singer-songwriter-teacher-poet Alan Semerdjian has roots on Long Island, but now lives in Stuy Town. With a trio of backing musicians, he gave us some of his "Quiet Songs for Loud Times."

The Looking is the performing persona of Todd Carter, who orginally hails from Indianapolis. He uses his operatically-trained voice and first-rate band to give fresh life to traditional songs and standards.

The next On Your Radar will be on Tuesday, January 14th, with Matt Sucich, Sara Syms, and the duo of Marc Black and Warren Bernhardt at Rockwood Stage 3.
