Since 2001, Don McGee has been a versatile guest host, both on weekdays and working with Pete Fornatale on Mixed Bag. Now the official host on Saturday afternoons 4-8pm, Don manages to squeeze in the time to work at WFUV from his full-time career doing media production for businesses and freelance voiceover work.
Don developed an interest in radio as a kid, when he began listening to Pete Fornatale, Dennis Elsas, and Vin Scelsa. "WFUV reminds me that there is still a community of people who like all kinds of good music and who like it presented in a down-to-earth, friendly, and entertaining fashion," Don says. "No hype, no screaming. Just a mutual love and respect for the music."
Don lives in New Jersey with his wife Kathy, an art consultant, and their two daughters; Annie, who will enroll as a freshman at Fordham in the fall, and Fordham senior, Kate, works in the WFUV news department.
In his spare time, Don enjoys playing the piano and drums, tennis, reading - especially letters to the editor in newspapers - and watching the New York Mets.
