Alisa Ali is part of our creative production team at WFUV, writing and editing the on-the-scene features from the FUV studios. That's the part you might now know. She's also on the air daily, on board The Alternate Side indie rock channel as a host, plus she's the voice of the daily Live Music Minute. You can hear her on WNYE 91.5 FM with The Alternate Side from 6am-9am weekday mornings. And you're likely to find her on the road with us as part of our music festival traveling circus of fun.
Before coming to the station, Alisa worked with a music management company, was a production coordinator for music performances and art exhibits, and managed a band.
Born and raised in NYC, she loves to take advantage of all that her city has to offer, from water gun fights to evenings at the Met, Lebowski-style bowling to Pan-Asian vegan cuisine and, of course... the music. Alisa tries to catch as many live shows as possible. Her favorite venues include Bowery Ballroom, Barbes, Mercury Lounge and the subway.
Some of her favorite musicians include Talking Heads, The White Stripes, My Morning Jacket, Built to Spill, Andrew Bird, Beirut and that guy who plays Violin on the 14th street 1 train.
Alisa currently resides in NYC, although she's aiming for a residency in your heart.
