ESPN’s Buster Olney Joins One on One

Nolan Silbernagel and Matt Rosenfeld sat down with Buster Olney of the ESPN family of networks and asked him all questions regarding the recent suspensions of players tied to taking performance enhancing drugs.  Olney gives his take as to whether or not this past Monday, which was when 12 players were suspended for taking PED’s, was a good or bad day for baseball, if he was surprised only Alex Rodriguez appealed the suspension, and if he expects the penalties to get tougher against players using PED’s.

When Yankee Stadium Freezes Over

Not to be confused with the already 5-year old Winter Classic, the NHL has decided to establish a new outdoor spectacle, this time on the field of Yankee Stadium. In the Big Apple, the NHL Stadium Series will feature the three local teams in two regular season games. The first comes on Sunday, January 26, 2014 with the Devils playing the Rangers. The Islanders will face the Rangers in the second game on Wednesday, Janurary 29, 2014. The Blueshirts will be the away team in both games.

Mariano Takes the Mound in Final All Star Game

This past Tuesday, Mariano Rivera stopped at Mets-Willets point on the 7 Train for the very last time.  Well, he didn’t necessarily take the subway, but you get the point- the Greatest Closer of All Time made his final appearance in Queens, on the biggest in season stage possible: the All Star Game.  The song was there. The cheers were there.  And of course, the chills and the tears were there.  It was certainly a moment baseball fans who tuned into the game and those who were in attendance will remember forever.
