Fordham Women's Basketball

The Stephanie Gaitley Show 2/2

by Mack Rosenberg

Another week of the Stephanie Gaitley coach's show, as Alex and myself finally made it back to the WFUV studios for the show. Coach Gaitley reflected on Fordham's fourth 1 point loss of the season, 56-55 to LaSalle at home on Wednesday. There were certainly plenty of positives on the scoresheet, as Fordham shot nearly 50 percent from the field but in the end it was LaSalle's defense that proved to be too much for the Rams. Fordham is now 11-12 and will head back to Philly for the third time this season to take on Temple tomorrow.

Alex and I take the Stephanie Gaitley coach's podcast to the road for the fourth straight week. The crew is now in Massachusetts, as the Fordham Women's basketball team takes on the UMass Minutewomen tonight at 5 PM. Coach Gaitley assesses where the confidence of her team is at this point after two home losses to Dayton and Charlotte. She also talks about the opponent in UMass and how Fordham can pull off their first A-10 Road win of the season.

Coach addresses the state of the team and how she's impressed with where they are right now and that the team has surpassed her expectations from the beginning of the year.

This week, the Stephanie Gaitley show hits the road as Alex Smith and I bring you the show from Dover, Delaware where the Rams will play against the Delaware State Lady Hornets on Wednesday, January 4th. Then they'll travel to our nation's capital and open up A-10 Conference play against George Washington on Saturday night. Coach Gaitley spoke to us about the last two games for the Rams - both tough one point losses. The attitude is still a positive one on this team as they look to rebound from arguably the toughest two losses of the season.

The Fordham Women’s Basketball squad takes to the road for a three game stretch starting tonight at Bucknell. The Rams are 5-2, off to their best start since the 2002-2003 season.

Mack Rosenberg and Alex Smith spoke with coach earlier today about the Rams last two games, both wins coming against Manhattan and San Diego. The Rams are currently first in the A-10 in scoring defense, and Gaitley addressed the main strengths on defense while also noting that the team is confident in their ability to win games even if the offense isn’t having its best performance.
