On the final episode of this season's Monday Night Quarterback, Head Coach Joe Moorhead talks with Mike Watts and Nick Logerfo about the Rams falling short in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs aginst Towson, 48-28. He also looks back at the best season Fordham has had in the modern era.
Behind an offensive outburst in the first half, and an impressive second half defensive performance, the Fordham Rams (12-1) defeated Sacred Heart (10-3) in the opening round of the FCS Playoffs, 37-27.
Today’s game was not for the faint of heart. Fordham saw their 17-7 lead in the 3rd quarter disappear right before their eyes, as Bucknell went up 21-17 as the third came to a close. But the Rams rallied back, thanks to a Mike Marando field goal, to give them a 23-21 lead with eight minutes to play. It was a long eight minutes as the final 60 seconds alone featured turnovers, penalties and a blocked field goal, but Fordham hung on for the victory.
The Fordham Rams continued their pursuit of an undefeated season with a narrow defeat over Holy Cross this Saturday 32-30. Fordham was led, as they have been all season, by quarterback Michael Nebrich who became the first player in school history to throw for over 500 yards.
With the win, Fordham remains undefeated, going 8-0 for the first time in the modern era - and they did it in style today. The Rams captured the lead 7-0 on a 68-yard touchdown pass from Michael Nebrich to Sam Ajala on the second play of the game and never looked back.
The Fordham Rams are now 7-0 for the first time since they went 7-0-1 in the 1930 season. Get an inside look at their continued success as Head Coach Joe Moorhead analyzes the Georgetown victory with DJ Sixsmith and Mack Rosenberg. Coach Moorhead also speaks to the historic start of the Football season.
Fordham (6-0) and Lehigh (4-1) seemed nearly even through 29 minutes and 40 seconds. A 40-yard touchdown to Sam Ajala with 13 seconds left in the first half proved to be a turning point, as the Rams outguned the Mountain Hawks down the stretch to extend their unbeaten start.
As the clock ticked to zero, the scoreboard read 52-7, a resounding victory for Fordham to keeping them undefeated for the season. However, just a half before, the Rams went into the locker room up just 10-0 and having blown an opportunity to score right before the half. Coach Joe Moorhead said the offense needed to come out fast in the second half, and they did.
