The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, has been buzzing over the weekend. In the scrum, WFUV's Nick Logerfo, Kenny Ducey and Kris Venezia caught up with Bob Costas of NBC Sports and the MLB Network. He spoke about what's special with this year's Hall of Fame class that includes Joe Torre and Tom Glavine. Costas also told us his thoughts on the steroid era, and he even had time to give us his opinion on MLB's use of instant replay. Check out the full interview below.

Bob Costas is one of the most awarded sports broadcasters we have ever seen. A winner of an incredible 25 Emmy Awards, Costas has also covered multiple World Series, NBA Championships, Super Bowls, and Olympic Games. While all of those accolades are certainly noteworthy, Costas recently took home what he calls one of the great honors of his career, WFUV’s Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award.

On May 9, 2013, Bob Costas was awarded the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting at the WFUV Annual Gala at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan. It was a festive gathering of many familiar faces at WFUV, as Costas gave a moving speech in acceptance of the award. He told a few memorable stories about his favorite sport, baseball. In addition, he paid homage to the award's namesake, in saying that receiving the award was truly one of the great moments of his life.

May 10, 2012 marked the fifth annual WFUV Gala. The event took place in New York City at Gotham Hall.

Al Michaels, this year's winner of the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting, was unable to attend and asked Bob Costas to accept the award on his behalf.

Bob was kind enough to sit down with me and discuss Al, WFUV, and what becoming a broadcaster today is all about.

Last Thursday night WFUV’s annual Gala honored one of the greats in the sports broadcasting industry as Al Michaels received the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award. Michaels joins Scully, Dick Enberg, Ernie Harwell, and Pat Summerall in the exclusive club.

This past Saturday, we had our annual One on One road show on Hall of Fame Weekend in Cooperstown.  Ben Allen, Greg Sobchuk, and Phil Acocella took in the experience and caught up with a few key people in the weekend’s ceremonies.
