15-0 first half Harvard run too much to overcome
With a standing room only crowd on hand, Fordham (7-5) nearly clawed back from an 11 point halftime deficit but couldn't get over the hump in a 94-86 loss to Harvard (11-1).
Fordham held its final lead with 8:45 to go in the first half, with the Crimson closing the half on an 18-7 run, keyed by a 15-0 advantage over 5:01. Harvard, which has only fallen to ranked Colorado this year, stretched their lead to 17 at three points in the final half. Fordham was able to close to four points with less than a minute to go, but couldn't get any closer.
Branden Frazier scored 16 first half points (31 total points), and Jon Severe exploded for 27 in the second after a 2 point opening frame in defeat. Severe's poor first half performance may have been a result of soreness in his knees. Mandell Thomas returned after missing the Loyola game with an injured hamstring, but finished 2/10 shooting. Brandyn Curry returned for Harvard after a lengthy absence to play nine scoreless minutes.
