A split of a two game conference road trip would be considered a major success a year ago.  After all, the Rams only won one of their seven conference road games in 2012. In 2013, however, the achievement is disappointing for a new look team with a new found confidence.

Fordham Scrapes By Rhode Island, 66-63

Fordham used the crowd, and some veteran leadership to propel them a 66-63 victory over Rhode Island on Saturday at the Rose Hill Gym. Like the last home game the Rams played against UMass, the battle of the Rams went right down the wire and foul shooting was the key.

Riding the momentum of their victory over Charlotte in the Atlantic 10 opener, the Fordham Rams Women’s Basketball program used the friendly confines of the Rose Hill Gym to continue their best start ever in conference play. The Rams sit atop the A-10 standings at 3-0 with the nationally ranked Dayton Flyers and the Duquesne Dukes.

49ers Edge Rams 74-68

Heading into their game at Charlotte, Fordham knew they were up for a tough test. The 49ers entered the game with 14-2 record and had held their opponents to just 36.5% shooting, which ranked them tenth in the entire country. When it was all said and done, Fordham hung extremely close late in the game, but it was the 49ers who came away with a 74-68 victory.

Fordham Starts Conference Play Off Right

The Fordham Rams are 1-0 in conference play for the first time in 7 years. Fordham wrapped up an 82-75 win against Duquesne on Wednesday night in the Bronx, and it was a career night for Branden Frazier. The Ram point guard set a new career high in assists with 13 to go along with 16 points.
