Men's Basketball Falls to UMass 78-72

Fordham lost 78-72 to the University of Massachusetts on February 4th.

The Rams lead against the Minutemen going into halftime, having scored 41 points. However, they ultimately were unable to match their first half effort, scoring only 31 points in the second.

Freshman starter Eric Paschall lead the way with 17 points for Fordham. From off the bench, guard John Severe followed suit with a 14 point effort.

Also, freshman forward Christian Sengfelder dominated the glass with 16 rebounds, 9 of which came on the defensive end.

Men's Basketball Falls to Rhode Island 64-63

Fordham lost a heartbreaker 64-63 to Rhode Island at the Rose Hill Gym. A last second basket by Gilvydas Birutagave the visiting Rams the victory. Mandell Thomas had sunk two late freethrows for Fordham to put them ahead 63-62, but Rhode Island had enough time left on the clock to score the gamewinner. 

 

Eric Paschall led Fordham with 19 points, Jon Severe followed close behind with 17 points. Ryan Rhoomes led with 16 rebounds.

Costello broke down how the freshmen and sophomore Rams have been faring against some of the more experienced Atlantic 10 players on teams, such as VCU and Dayton.
