The Bottomless Pit

The Bottomless Pit With Marshall Crenshaw For January 11

by Marshall Crenshaw

As of right now "The Bottomess Pit" is going on an Everly Brothers binge of indefinite duration. Every week, for the foreseeable future, there'll be something by the Brothers on the show — maybe one tune, maybe several, but always something.

This week's show is a rerun from September 14 and features an extended Everly Brothers tribute segment during Part 1, one of my favorite things that I've ever done on the show.

Tonight at 10, following Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight,"®  it's the second and final Holiday Season 2013 edition of "The Bottomless Pit." This week, I'll feature some holiday favorites by King Curtis, Bob Seger and, of course, Jim Nabors, and others. Also, some 2013 favorites by Grant Hart, The Entrance Band (pictured), Nicole Mitchell and more.

This week's show is a nice one, the first of two Holiday Season 2013 installments of "The Bottomless Pit." I'll play some seasonal favorites, some songs that were favorites of my Dad's (he passed away during the holiday season a year ago), and some new recordings from the past year that impressed me, moved me and caused me to plunk down some money.

Expect some King Curtis, Valerie June, Jerry Vale and more.
