Smartphones have changed the world in many ways. Like changing the meaning of "apple picking" from pulling fruit to cell phone robbery. The crime's called apple picking because Apple iPhones are often targeted.
Federal agriculture statistics show the number of apple trees in New York grew by 22 percent from 2006 to 2011.
Since it launched in 2007, the phone has been sold exclusively for AT&T's network in the U.S., while customers in most other countries had a choice of several carriers.
Apple COO Tim Cook has called phone’s new availability "the beginning of a great relationship between Verizon and Apple."
