Governor Cuomo compares himself to Gumby when negotiating legislative deals.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has again compared himself to Gumby when describing his approach to negotiations.

The Democratic governor told reporters Wednesday that he "is a veritable Gumby" when it comes to his ability to strike a compromise.

His comments were in reference to ongoing talks with lawmakers about authorizing medical marijuana in New York state.

Cuomo went on to say that while he's typically "pliable" he has concerns about medical marijuana proposals that might allow the drug pot to fall into the wrong hands.

Cuomo is known as a tough negotiator but is also seen as a political pragmatist.

He first compared himself to the bendable, green animated character two years ago when talking to a crowd of mayors about his flexibility during negotiations.
