De Blasios Mull Gracing Gracie Mansion
New York City mayor elect Bill de Blasio has not yet decided whether he and his family will move into the traditional home of the Mayor. The family is reportedly waiting until daughter Chiara comes home from college for Thanksgiving to decide.
The mansion on the banks of the East River on Manhattan’s Upper East Side has been the Mayor’s home since Fiorello LaGuardia took up residence in 1942. Michael Bloomberg chose not to live in the residence, using it only for official functions and to host visiting dignitaries.
