Problems reported at some New York City polling sites

The Board of Elections says it is experiencing problems at some polling sites around New York City.

A spokesman says most of the problems concern voting machines.

Most of the reports have been in Queens and Brooklyn. Some are in Manhattan.

The city is using old mechanical lever machines for Tuesday's primary elections.

The agency says it is monitoring Twitter reports from voters.

At the 55th Street and Lexington Avenue site in Manhattan, there were no voting machines when polls opened. That has been rectified.

Problems at some other sites concerned a lack of supervisors or workers.

Some people have had to vote by affidavit because machines were not ready when they arrived.
