Governor Christie is set to update New Jersey on Superstorm recovery efforts

Recovery efforts continue in New Jersey more than a month after Superstorm Sandy pounded the state.

Gov. Chris Christie is scheduled to make an announcement about those efforts on Wednesday. Scheduled storm debris collections will begin on Toms River's barrier island. A private contractor will pick up the refuse.

Small Business Administration deputy administrator Marie Johns is scheduled to be on Long Beach Island Wednesday. She'll review the ongoing response and recovery efforts. The SBA offers businesses low-interest loans.

The American Red Cross will open two new service centers in Toms River and Atlantic City to assist people who lost homes in Sandy.
