We have no idea what they're talking about: Spanish Gold's ode to SXSW, "Day Drinking" (video)

Guitarist Adrian Quesada from Grupo Fantasma/Brownout, Dante Schwebel of Hacienda/City and Colour, and My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick Hallahan form the backbone of new Southern supergroup Spanish Gold (@spanishgoldband).

The trio of friends set up a session at Dan Auerbach’s studio in Nashville, did more recording in Austin, then finished their debut LP in Louisville, where Hallahan lives.

The result, South of Nowhere, is out May 27th on BMG/Del Mar Records. They treated us to a live performance of their ode to SXSW: "Day Drinking."

This project is so new it's hard to find more about them, but they do have a Facebook page.
