In the 17 years since I first interviewed Mary Chapin Carpenter, her music has just gotten deeper and richer. She'll always be loved for Grammy-winning songs like "Down at the Twist and Shout," "I Feel Lucky," and "Passionate Kisses," but at age 58 she's interested in contemplating the passage of time.

On her fourth visit to my program, she shared her thoughts about her life today and the mature songs on her latest album, The Things That We Are Made Of.
