In the spirit of music discovery which guides WFUV, our DJs offer their favorite new artists on the cusp of making it to the next level.
The Lemon Twigs are Brian and Michael D’Addario, two teenage brothers from Long Island. On the surface, they may not seem like the type to carry on 40-year-old rock traditions, but one listen to their debut album, Do Hollywood, and one look at their eccentrically retro appearance, and you know they mean business.
Their many influences are intertwined into a thoroughly modern amalgam of British invasion bands, psychedelic pop, glam rock and other paisley-adorned delicacies, not unlike unconventional pop visionaries like Foxygen and Temples.
