Judith Owen is a vivacious singer-songwriter who divides her time between London (where she was raised), Los Angeles, and New Orleans, where she and her husband, the humorist-bassist Harry Shearer, have a home in the Tremé district.

She's one of my favorite musicians and favorite people. On her latest album, Somebody's Child, Judith shifts her attention from her personal history to the world we're living in right now. For her fourth visit to WFUV she brought legendary bass player and session man Leland Sklar, Brazilian percussionist Pedro Segundo, and a trio of British string players. They performed three songs from the album and an intimate cover of Roxy Music's "More Than This."
