A Great Musical Mind: Leonard Bernstein

A new book by performing arts photographer, Steve Sherman, looks at the last 6 years of Leonard Bernstein's life.

Leonard Bernstein is recognized as one of the greatest musical minds of all time.  During his illustrious career, he composed the music for West Side Story and Candide.  But, perhaps he’s best known as the longtime music director of the New York Philharmonic.   

On this morning's show, we speak with Steve Sherman, a performing arts photographer in New York City.  His new book is called Leonard Bernstein at Work-- His Final Years 1984-1990.
