The last time Duncan Sheik was at WFUV, in 2007, it was right after the opening of Spring Awakening, the musical he wrote with Steven Sater. He brought the four then-unknown leads (Jonathan Grof, Lea Michele, John Gallagher, Jr., and Lea Pritchard) to perform songs from that Broadway hit.

This time it was on the heels of American Psycho, which was a hit in London, but closed quickly in New York. Accompanied by Jason Hart on piano, Duncan performed songs from his most recent albums, Legerdemain and Covers '80s, along with "This Is Not an Exit," the sweeping finale of American Psycho.

He also caught us up on his many irons in the fire, which include several more musicals and a concert with Suzanne Vega on September 25 at the Sands Point Preserve on Long Island.
