The Blind Boys of Alabama at Clearwater 2015.

It was appropriate to kick off our Sunday broadcast with living legends of gospel music, The Blind Boys of Alabama. They actually started performing as boys singing for the troops in World War II. Later they performed at benefits for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Since then they've won 5 Grammys and recorded with Bonnie Raitt, Tom Waits, Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, Susan Tedeschi, and Willie Nelson to name a few.

On stage at Clearwater they took us to church with a set of traditional spirituals like "Amazing Grace" along with covers of Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" and Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky." By the end the crowd was on its feet and definitely feeling the spirit.
