For Vin Scelsa's first "Idiot's Delight"® program of 2014, airing at 8 tonight, Vin found inspiration in this week's stealth snowfall. Unable to sleep during the overnight storm, he awoke at 4 on Friday morning and began creating Saturday's show, following wintry paths laid by The Decemberists, Bill Callahan, Kate Bush, The Head and The Heart, Ella Fitzgerald and many others.

"The overall feel is doing a show during a snowfall at night," says Vin. "It was still nighttime dark outside, the storm was just ending and the snow was untouched and pure and very beautiful."

That's Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight"®, Saturdays from 8-10 p.m. on 90.7FM, also streaming online.

Tuned in late to the show? You can find "Idiot's Delight"® in the FUV archives for two weeks after broadcast.
