Question of the Day: Vanished Venues

by Corny O'Connell
A A

Lady Gaga is closing out Roseland Ballroom in New York City tonight. The historic venue which has hosted concerts, dances and radio broadcasts since the 1920s is lowering the curtain for the final time. In doing so, Roseland joins other storied show places in the Big Apple such as the Palladium, CBGB's, and The Bottom Line. Whom do you remember seeing at these or other vanished venues? Share with us in the comments below and we'll spin a set after 9am.

Here's what we played:

The Clash "London Calling"

Tower of Power "What Is Hip?"

Talking Heads "Warning Sign"

Linda Ronstadt "When Will I Be Loved?"
