Question of the Day: Real-Life Events

by Corny O'Connell
A A

Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, the former boxer whose murder conviction was overturned after serving nearly 20 years in prison, died yesterday of prostate cancer. Carter, whose story inspired a Denzel Washington film, was 76. His story also inspired Bob Dylan to write the song "Hurricane" based on the events of the murder and trial. What other songs come to mind that are based on actual events? Let us know in the comments below. We'll spin a set after 9am.

Here's what we played:

Randy Newman "Louisiana 1972"

Joni Mitchell "Woodstock"

Bob Dylan "Hurricane"
