The forthcoming album from Mayer Hawthorne Where Does This Door Go is a departure from the retro-soul of his two previous releases. Hawthorne brought in a handful of producers to create a more contemporary sound. You can get a First Listen here. That got us to thinking of other albums with a marked departure from an artist's or band's established sound. Can you think of a good example?
