New Music Monday is a collection of the best new releases in music each week. We share them with you every Monday, every hour on WFUV.
The Lost Brothers- The Passing of the Night
This British folk-rock band has recently toured with Glen Hansard and signed with Brendan Benson’s label Readymade Records. With endorsements from guys like that, how could this be bad?
Luka Bloom- This New Morning
Irish folk singer Luka Bloom, AKA Kevin Moore, has making music for over 30 years. On his past few albums he has looked back at and revisited his older work, but with this aptly titled album he is certainly moving forward.
Gov’t Mule- The Georgia Bootleg Box sampler
This sampler comes from the six CD set capturing the classic band at three different Georgia venues on three consecutive nights in 1996. It features the bands original lineup as well as a few guest appearances.
Kate Earl- “One Woman Army”
"One Woman Army" is the first single off the singer songwriter’s upcoming release, Stronger. Earl has cited artists like Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell as influences on the rootsy new record, and she collaborated with folk pop star Brett Dennen on much of it.
