The Group Harmony Review Celebrates Black History Month This February

by Dan Romanello

Delta Rhythm Boys

At midnight, I begin the first of four February shows celebrating Black History Month and the roots of 1950s R&B vocal group harmony, examining its influence on pop, blues, gospel, jazz and swing on the musical landscape. Expect to hear classics from the Five Keys, Ravens, the Delta Rhythm Boys (pictured), Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald and the Ink Spots, the Charioteers, the Marshall Brothers and other Group Harmony Review favorites.

So please join me, Dan Romanello, for the Group Harmony Review, Saturday night (or if you prefer, early Sunday morning) at midnight on 90.7FM WFUV, also streaming online.

If the show's on a bit late for you, you can always catch up to it in the FUV archives for up to two weeks after broadcast.
