When I was asked to pick one of my favorite sessions from the FUV Vault, it was a pretty easy task.
Last year, I got a chance to interview one of my all time favorite musicians, Andrew Bird right before the release of his 6th solo album, "Break It Yourself". He's since released a companion album called, "Hands of Glory".
In this session (taped at Merkin Concert Hall) Andrew Bird opens up about his creative process, talks science & gives us some insight on whistling while you work. We'll air this session tonight at 9 on FUV, but you can also listen to it here: Please enjoy.
Also, catch Andrew Bird performing live:
On Tuesday, June 11th Andrew and a collection of artists including Judy Collins, Allen Toussaint, Bettye LaVette, Suzanne Vega, & Loudon Wainwright III will perform the music of Frank Sinatra at Summerstage in New York's Central Park. The gala event will help raise funds to support City Park Foundation's year round free arts, sports and education programs. Information on tickets can be found here.
He'll also be at this year's Newport Folk Festival.
