Jack White’s Blunderbuss debuted last week at #1 in the U.S. & the U.K. giving him his first number one album. Jack White was, of course, one half of The White Stripes which disbanded in early 2011. In addition to The White Stripes, Jack has also had a hand in The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, and Rome an album he worked on with Danger Mouse and Norah Jones last year. Jack produced this new album and had the luxury of using his own home studio for the first time. (The fashion model, Karen Elson, whom Jack divorced last June, sings backing vocals on a few tracks.) All the songs are originals except for “I’m Shakin’” by Rudolph Toombs, best known for writing “One Mint Julip” and “One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer”.
Jack White performs in NYC at Roseland Ballroom May 21 & 22.
