Vampire Weekend

From the FUV Vault: SXSW Revisited

by Sarah Wardrop

Aside from performances in Studio A, FUV brings you live music from venues around NYC and festivals around the country. Our SXSW showcase this year was almost an early Public Radio Music Month celebration as FUV joined four fellow public music stations for the "Public Radio Rocks SXSW Day Stage."

You got to hear Divine Fits, Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, Iron & Wine, Charles Bradley, Pickwick and Vampire Weekend live from Austin, and we're taking a look back at two of those memorable sets tonight on FUV. Take a listen to Charles Bradley and Vampire Weekend at 9pm, and if you haven't yet, please take a minute to support FUV.

WFUV at SXSW: Vampire Weekend

by Laura Fedele

Indie rockers who bonded over a love of punk and African music at Columbia University in 2006, Vampire Weekend (@VampireWeekend) still call New York City home through a wave of success following their first two releases. The four members — Ezra Koenig (lead vocals, guitar), Rostam Batmanglij (keys, guitar), Chris Tomson (drums), and Chris Baio (bass) — busted out with their first self-titled album in 2008, then Contra in 2010.
