The warmth and exuberance that filled the Beacon Theatre for our sold-out 2014 benefit concert, Holiday Cheer for FUV, was an oasis of peace in unsettled times.

Jonathan Wilson: FUV Holiday Cheer 2014

A shaggy-haired troubador who mines the rich Laurel Canyon sound of the late '60s and '70s, Jonathan Wilson was aboard 2014's Holiday Cheer for FUV with Conor Oberst and Friends not only as a solo artist, but as part of Conor's band. Wilson, who produced Conor's 2014 album Upside Down Mountain, has produced records for Father John Misty and many others, and in 2013 released his very own second solo album, Fanfare, on Bella Union. We are so pleased that Jonathan Wilson was onstage for Holiday Cheer at the Beacon Theatre with his longtime friend Conor Oberst, as well as Natalie Merchant, Laura Marling, The Lone Bellow and The Felice Brothers.

Newport Folk Festival: Day 3

Sometimes it felt like we were paying as much attention to the weather radar as the music, but in the end, there was sun.

Day 3 at Newport had quite a finale: the skies cleared up, and a mutual admiration society of Dawes, Jonathan Wilson, Tom Morello and Sara Watkins held court on the Fort stage with Jackson Browne as their leader, soaking it all up. "Lawyers, Guns and Money" with a Tom Morello solo... Maybe the first time an electric guitar has been played with teeth at Newport? Probably a tie with "These Days" for my highlight of Jackson's set.

WFUV at SXSW: Jonathan Wilson

by Rita Houston

In-demand producer and session player Jonathan Wilson has finally makes the time to share his own songs with the world, and we are so glad about that. He's well known among musicians, and starting to spread the word to fans with his new album, Gentle Spirit. We were happy to catch up with him and his band in Austin at the Hotel San Jose to capture this live performance of "Moses Pain."
