The Duhks

The Duhks - Sunday Breakfast - 2014

by John Platt
Jeremy Rainer

The Duhks are a critically acclaimed Canadian string band, who bring together a world of influences, including Appalachian, Celtic, and Cajun music, to their diverse mix. Formed in 2002 in Winnipeg by banjo player Leonard Podolak, they went on hiatus in 2010, but returned with a new album, Beyond the Blue, this year. Leonard and the current lineup, which includes original singer Jessee Havey, made their first visit to WFUV in six years for this session for the Sunday Breakfast.

The Duhks - Words and Music - 2008

by Claudia Marshall
The Duhks are a Winnipeg-based quintet whose sound incorporates a range of roots music traditions: gospel, old-time, country, and more. The recent departure of two key members resulted in two strong additions to the band, and The Duhks showcased the new line-up and songs from their new album 'Fast Paced World' during an interview with WFUV's Claudia Marshall.
