Donald Fagen - Words and Music - 2012

by Rita Houston
Donald Fagen

It's hard to imagine pop music history without songs like "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" and "Reelin' In The Years," and of course, Steely Dan couldn't exist without singer and keyboardist Donald Fagen. Outside the band, his solo records have been few and far between but worth the wait, and this year he released a new one called Sunken Condos. Hear about the new album's songs and characters, and the influence of Levon Helm, Isaac Hayes and more, in my recent conversation with Donald.

What's Going On At Whole Wide World

by Marisa Frydman

Thank Goodness Its' Friday! We have a very exciting show lined up for the Whole Wide World tonight. Join Rita and I for a conversation with the legendary group, Tom Tom Club. Rocking out since 1981, the duo will be discussing their newly released EP, Downtown Rockers, as well as taking over the airwaves for a guest DJ set. Check out their new music video for the title track below. We will also be wrapping up coverage of this week's CMJ music festival by playing some of her favorite bands of the showcase including Savoir Adore and Wax Poetic.
