The multi-talented Clarence Greenwood has spent the last 20 years perfecting his poetic and soulful approach to rock, and as Citizen Cope he's gained one of the most dedicated audiences around. Cope's fifth album, One Lovely Day, is out today, and to celebrate Clarence and a string quartet recently performed a fantastic FUV Live set at Electric Lady Studios.

Citizen Cope's mix of soul, blues, and folk has been appealing to fans since the mid-'90s, but he crosses so many different genres and styles that most of the major labels have found him hard to 'market.' For his fourth album, 'Rainwater LP,' Citizen Cope decided to create his own label for his unique sound, and in between singing some tunes he told WFUV's Rita Houston how it felt to go indie.
