FUV at SXSW 2016 Wrap Up

Every year, SXSW brings together more artists in one area than a festival goer could possibly hope to see, but part of the fun is to try to catch as much live music and discover as many new artists as you can. The trick is to pace yourself, not get carried away with a schedule, and to be open to anything and everything.

Billie Marten: SXSW 2016

This week at SXSW, Team FUV caught up with several young artists and bands, all on the verge of bigger things, at Austin's Hotel Saint Cecilia. North Yorkshire's Billie Marten is only 16 years old, but her ferociously fragile folk rock, found on her powerful EPs, Ribbon (2014) and As Long As (2015), reveals a sage and perceptive soul.

Declan McKenna: SXSW 2016

This week at SXSW, FUV caught up with several young artists and bands, all on the verge of bigger things, at Austin's Hotel Saint Cecilia. Singer and songwriter Declan McKenna released his first single "Brazil" when he was just 16 and won Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition last year.

MUNA: SXSW 2016

This week at SXSW, FUV caught up with several young artists and bands, all on the verge of bigger things, at Austin's Hotel Saint Cecilia. The Los Angeles trio MUNA skitters between synthpop and R&B, all with a darkly beguiling cast.
