Fordham Cruises to a 63-48 Win Over LaSalle

The Fordham Rams continue to play well at home, winning their 3rd consecutive home game tonight against the LaSalle Explorers.  This marked their 8th win at home this season, and they are now 8-7 when playing in the friendly confines of the Rose Hill Gym.  

Fordham was lead offensively by Christian Sengfelder who lead the team with 14 rebounds, and contributed 14 points, going 7-10 from the field.  Bryan Smith and Jon Severe led the Rams in scoring and contributed 15 points on the day.

Westchester Knicks fall to Maine 99-81

The Westchester Knicks faced off against the Maine Red Claws Saturday night, losing the battle 99-81. The Knicks were without their top scorers in F Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Quad) and C Darnell Jackson (Achilles) along with court general G Andre Barett (tooth). Newly acquired G Doron Lamb who won a National Championship with the Kentucky Wildcats in 2012, put on a show scoring 27 pts on 9-17, with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. F/C Ben Strong added 17 rebounds along with 10 points in the loss as well for the Knicks. Red Claw Omari Johnson put up 30 points and 14 rebounds for Maine. 

Imani Simon: the Littlest, but Bravest Ram

The Fordham women's basketball team is in the midst of their stretch run in hopes of winning their second consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship. Despite their push as the regular season draws near its end, the team continues to do great work off the court. Throughout the season, an existing bond with Imani Simon has grown stronger.

Fordham Tops George Mason 80-68

The Atlantic 10 road losing-streak is over for the Fordham Men's Basketball team (8-16, 3-10 A-10) as they defeated George Mason (8-17, 3-10 A-10) by a final score of 80-68 on February 18th.

The Rams fell behind early and trailed the Patriots 34-30 going into halftime. However, Fordham came out inspired in the second, and turned their 4-point defecit into a lead within 10 minutes.

Guard Mandell Thomas had another impressive game, finishing with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Forward Eric Paschall added 21 points, 4 rebounds and an assist.

After reportedly reaching a buyout agreement with Knicks Sunday, Amar'e Stoudemire could soon be joining a contender.

A league source told WFUV that the Dallas Mavericks are the frontrunner to land Stoudemire at this point in time, after reports had surfaced this week that they'd be one of the leading candidates. He could be in uniform when the NBA starts back up on Thursday.

Stoudemire's buyout comes in the fifth in final year of his contract with the Knicks, with whom he averaged 17 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Men's Basketball Takes Down St. Joseph's 69-55

The Fordham Men's Basketball team (7-16, 2-10 A-10) picked up their second Atlantic 10 win of the season on February 15th as they defeated the Saint Joseph's Hawks (11-13, 5-7 A-10) by a final score of 69-55.

The Rams fell behind early with Saint Joe's leading 17-11, but they were able to take a 31-26 halftime lead over the Hawks. Fordham used their halftime lead as momentum and came out explosive in the second half, as reflected by the 69-55 final.
