Branden Frazier Works out for the Brooklyn Nets

by Kenny Ducey

Fordham Athletics

Branden Frazier got a special opportunity Tuesday - a chance to workout for his hometown Brooklyn Nets and take a step towards playing in the NBA, something he says he's always dreamed of.

"I think I did pretty well, he said. "There's a lot of shooting stuff I could have done better with, but it's about working."

Weekend in Waco

My voice is still hoarse. My eyes are still groggy. I am still reeling with a weekend hangover that’s filled with nostalgia and some withdrawal. The culprit, however, hasn’t been alcohol intoxication. It’s been three days in Waco, Texas capped by a heartbreaking one-point loss in the first round of the women’s NCAA tournament.

The Dave Roach Roach Report: 3/8

by Mack Rosenberg

WFUV Sports (10/2013)

Fordham Athletic director David Roach joined me in his monthly spot on One on One to talk all things Fordham athletics. First on the agenda was Roach's recent contract extension and what he plans to do in the next five years to keep moving Fordham athletics forward. We also discussed the Atlantic 10 women's basketball tournament where the Rams defeated Duquense on Friday night and played in the semifinal round on Saturdayagainst St. Bonaventure.

Saint Joseph's Drops Fordham 87-72

by Kelly Kultys

Anthony Pucik/WFUV Sports

The final score put the game much closer than it was for the first 35 minutes. The Saint Joseph Hawks jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back. Fordham went into the half down 12, with the score at 42-30, but the Hawks were just as hot out of half time. They went up 29 points with 13 to go in the game for their biggest lead of the day. The scoring outburst from Saint Joseph's was large in part thanks to senior guard Langston Galloway's offensive outburst. He scored 33 points and went 10 for 15 from 3-point distance. The Rams defense seemed to have few answers.

Fordham Men's Basketball Preview Show

by Mack Rosenberg

The Fordham Men's basketball team opens up it's 2013-2014 campaign this Friday against St. Francis at the Rose Hill Gym. For the Rams, it's the start of a new era as Chris Gaston (over 1,000 points and averaged a double-double at Fordham) has graduated. Myself and Chris Marasco preview the season in this special podcast, and there are quite a few points to hit on.

Fordham Focus 3/9: One on One With Tom Pecora

by Alex Smith

On the morning of Saturday March 9th, in Olean, NY, Mack Rosenberg and I sat down with Fordham Men’s Basketball Head Coach Tom Pecora for the final time this season. Fordham’s final game with Saint Bonaventure was just hours away, so we took the chance to look back on this season, and look ahead to next year.

Rams Take Season Finale 76-72 over Saint Bonaventure

by Alex Smith

Heading into their regular season finale at St. Bonaventure, the Fordham Rams didn’t appear to have much to play for. They had no chance of making the A10 tournament, and they hadn’t won a road conference game in four calendar years. On the other side, the Bonnies had everything to play for. A win for the Bonnies put them into postseason play. It was also Senior Day at the Reilly Center. Despite the odds, the young Fordham team played hard for 40 minutes, and their senior leader Chris Gaston stepped up when it mattered most, leading the Rams to an improbable 76-72 win to finish out the year.

Saint Joe’s Overpowers Fordham 82-56

by Alex Smith

Entering the Rams’ second matchup of the season against the Saint Joseph’s Hawks, the Fordham Rams had a lot of hope. In their first matchup with the Hawks this season, Fordham played them incredibly close and were a few missed free throws and turnovers away from coming out with a win. Saint Joe’s won that first matchup 66-62. The second time around was not nearly as close, as the Hawks cruised to an 82-56 victory.
