ESPN The Magazine Senior Writer Previews Mets, Yanks, and the New Home Plate Collision Rule

As spring training kicks off, Kelly and Matt were joined by ESPN The Magazine senior baseball writer and network contributor Buster Olney to discuss the upcoming baseball season.

First Buster broke down the upcoming seasons for the two New York squads, including an outlook on Masahiro Tanaka for the Yankees and who on the Bronx Bombers might make the biggest impact, and also the eventual call up of Noah Syndergaard of the Mets and Sandy Alderson’s claim that the Amazins could win 90 games.

Then the discussion turned its attention to the new rule policing home-plate collisions, and how Buster feels about the terms and implementation of the new experimental rule.

Finally, Olney left us with some teams a bit off the radar who he thinks could surprise some people moving forward this season.
