Special guests Tom Lorenzo of Nets Daily and Mike Miller of Post Don't Lie
With the NBA season just a week away, the Nets and Knicks are ready to start seasons with high expectations. Kenny Ducey and Mike Watts host WFUV's NBA preview show to look at the most important storylines surrounding New York basketball.
Brooklyn has added key veteran pieces, a new coach and important bench pieces to an already competitive squad. The Nets enter their second year in Brooklyn with division title and perhaps some championship aspirations. Tom Lorenzo of NetsDaily.com calls in to tell us how the pieces will mesh together once the team is healthy, and what a good season for the Nets will be.
Then Mike Miller of Post Don't Lie joins us to map out the Knicks offseason moves, including the additions of Andrea Bargnani and Metta World Peace (and how he will mesh with J.R. Smith in the locker room, our answer: interestingly). We discuss what Amar'e Stoudemire could add if he can get healthy and what he thinks is going on with Iman Shumpert's erratic playing time. Finally, we discuss Carmelo Anthony's impending free agency and whether he is truly the 15th best player in the NBA, as ESPN analysts believe.
Finally, all four of us give predictions for one of the more competitive seasons in recent memory in the NBA. Will the Knicks repeat, and are NBA GM's right when they predict that the Nets will raise an Atlantic Division banner come season's end?
