Top American Skater Falls to Fourth in 2013 NHL Draft

A few NHL scouts and mock drafts had Seth Jones ranked as the number one overall prospect and for those that did not, many had him as the second overall pick.

However, as is typical in drafts, regardless if it is for the NFL, NBA, MLB or NHL, highly touted players do fall on draft day.

But, hey, the Nashville Predators are not complaining, as they personally ranked the defenseman their number one choice, and he fell right into their lap.

Jones played for the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League where he scored 56 points in 61 games (as a defensive player, keep in mind).  The 6’4” 18 year old was also an alternate captain on USA’s gold winning 2013 World Junior Championships team.
