Lenn Robbins of NY Post talks about the Irish and Trojans
By: Chris Marasco
Today on One on One, Kenny and I were joined by Lenn Robbins, Sports Columnist for the NY Post. While covering a variety of different topics about all the great games this rivalry weekend, we narrowed in on the Notre Dame matchup at USC later tonight.
When asked about USC freshman quarterback Max Wittek, Lenn went on about his admiration for the young player’s confidence after predicting his team to be victorious over the Fighting Irish. The game is tonight at 8:00 PM and is the determining factor in Notre Dame clinching their bid to the BCS Title Game.
USC has struggled this year after being named the countries number one team this pre-season. The Trojans sit now at 7-4 and are without starting QB Matt Barkley, who’s out with an injury.
With Notre Dame coming into the contest 11-0 and with one of the best defenses in the country, it is up to Wittek to lead his team in one of the most highly anticipated games in years.
When asked about making his first start in a game of this significance the young gunner replied, "You really can't ask for a better opportunity to show what you've got."
Both teams are aware of the game's importance and it should be a great one in Southern California between two of the most historic rivals in football history.
