Rams Miss Canty and Smith In Loss

Fordham typically plays well at the Rose Hill Gym, which made it all the more shocking to see the Rams (2-2) fall to previously winless Sacred Heart (1-4) on their home floor.

Without the services of Ryan Canty (who left the team to address personal issues) and Bryan Smith (ankle injury), the Rams faltered at home for the first time in the campaign. More importantly, Fordham couldn't overcome a 5/28 shooting performance beyond the arc and a -14 rebounding margin.

The Pioneers had four in double figures and were led by Tevin Falzon and Louis Montes (16 points), who both added double doubles in the win.  Fordham was led by freshman Jon Severe, who poured in 23 on 8/19 shooting. Branden Frazier scored 21 in defeat.

The Rams are back at it on Tuesday when they travel to the Draddy Gymnasium to battle rival Manhattan College.  Hear all the action 90.7FM and WFUVSports.org.
