Coach Pecora Discusses the State of the Rams
Sitting at 2-9 through 11 games, it is clear that the 2012-2013 season has not been an easy one for Fordham Men’s Basketball Head Coach Tom Pecora.
Fortunately for the Rams, who have played one of the toughest schedules in the nation and one contest in the Bronx, 10 of the next 20 games are at the friendly confines of the Rose Hill Gym. Coach Pecora joined Mack Rosenberg and me on our weekly Fordham Focus segment on One on One to discuss the year up to this point and the games ahead.
The former Hofstra head coach told us this season has not only been a learning experience for his players but it has also been an important time for him as well. Pecora stressed the fact that his team must improve defensively, especially after allowing 57 points in the first half of Fordham’s 88-73 lost to Connecticut on Friday. We also discussed the health of senior forward Chris Gaston, the maturation of junior guard and leading scorer Brandon Frazier and the sophomore slump of second year guard Bryan Smith.
The Rams will try to put the pieces back together tomorrow afternoon as they host Siena at the Rose Hill Gym. Tune in for the call of the game right here on WFUVSports.org and 90.7FM today at 11:55 AM. With four non-conference games remaining, Fordham will try to get on the winning track before beginning A-10 play in early January.
