Rams’ Kicker Prepares for the Next Level
Rams’ kicker/punter Patrick Murray had an unforgettable senior season. Murray was a crucial piece of a Rams team that posted the school’s first winning record since 2007. Individually, he led all of the NCAA in field goals with 25 and also led the Patriot League in punting average, with 46 yards per punt. Recently, Murray was named the First Team 2012 Associated Press NCAA FCS All-American placekicker. Murray has also been named the winner of the 2012 Fred Mitchell Award, which honors the nation's top collegiate place-kicker among more than 750 FCS, Division II, III, NAIA and NJCAA football teams. The award is given to the most outstanding kicker, both on and off the field.
Murray came by the WFUV studios for an exclusive interview to discuss his collection of awards, as well as his final thoughts on the 2012 season and how he is preparing for the next step in his football career: playing at the NFL level.
