Renowned Sportscaster receives Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award

On May 9, 2013, Bob Costas was awarded the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting at the WFUV Annual Gala at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan. It was a festive gathering of many familiar faces at WFUV, as Costas gave a moving speech in acceptance of the award. He told a few memorable stories about his favorite sport, baseball. In addition, he paid homage to the award's namesake, in saying that receiving the award was truly one of the great moments of his life.

Vin Scully is 85 years old and still broadcasts Los Angeles Dodgers home games. He was unable to travel to New York for the Gala. However, Vin took the time to record a video message to the audience and to Bob in presenting the award.
