They're headed out on tour this Spring to tear through the new material as a full band, but in this performance at City Winery, we got to hear what's at the core of the album: Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley, a couple of guitars, and some great songs.

The No Fuss and Feathers Road Show - Sunday Breakfast - 2014

The No Fuss and Feathers Road Show is a side project of NYC singer-songwriters Karyn Oliver, Carolann Solebello (of Red Molly fame) and Catherine Miles and Jay Mafale of The YaYas. It grew out of their work with the female folk collective Chicks with Dip on "Joni Mitchell's Blue," where they discovered sublime harmonies when their voices blended. You can sense their special musical chemistry in this session in Studio A.

Fifth is, in fact, their fifth album, and the guys recently stopped by Studio A along with bassist James Haggerty to play us some of the new songs and to talk about the new album during this FUV Live session.

We first fell for this Brooklyn band a couple oyears ago when they released their self-titled debut, and now they're back with a slightly darker album, Trouble. The new project sees the band exploring new musical territory and stretching out their arrangements. The record features a collection of introspective songs perfectly suited for winter.

Nick Waterhouse - FUV Live - 2014

This young musician may have been born in the late '80s, but his music channels the rhythm and blues of the '50s and '60s. His first release was a 45 of his song “Some Place” backed with the track “That Place.” Once those songs began circulating, the buzz and attention soon followed. Waterhouse is now on his second full-length album, Holly, and he stopped by WFUV to play us some of the new songs and to talk about the making of the new record.
